From ABC-6 (Philadelphia)
New Jersey Governor Mikie Sherrill [D] signed legislation that lifts a 40-year nuclear moratorium in the Garden State.
She signed the bill at the Salem Nuclear Power Plant on Wednesday.
ABC-6 reports,
Sherrill also launched a nuclear task force.
The legislation advances the state’s pursuit of new nuclear energy, while lowering energy costs for New Jersey residents.
Two items of note. First, New Jersey’s former nuclear ban is even older the the current ban in Minnesota. Second, Democratic Gov. Sherrill worked with a majority-Democrat legislature to overturn the ban.
What’s holding Minnesota back?
