Fahad Mohamed Nur remains as the sole Minnesota representative on the FBI’s 10 most wanted fraudster list. With a flurry of Minnesota fraud fugitives returning to America in recent months, Nur remains as one of a handful of international fugitives still at large. He is No. 74 (out of 116) on our fraud defendant tracker, which currently lists three fugitives.

Nur was added to the FBI’s most wanted fraudster list back in Juiy. The FBI announced a $150,000 reward. The FBI notes,
Nur is a naturalized United States citizen who has ties to Somalia and may currently be living there.
Nur, now 42 and formerly of Minneapolis, was one of the original 47 defendants charged in the Feeding Our Future fraud scandal way back in September 2022, as part of the Haji’s Kitchen group of defendants. By that point in the proceedings, he was already gone, having fled within a week of the mass FBI raids carried out in January 2022. Since then, all eight (8) of his Haji co-defendants have pled guilty. None have been sentenced as of yet.
The 2022 indictment accuses Nur of taking more than $5 million out of the federal free-food program through his front company, The Produce. Nur’s involvement in the larger food fraud scandal extended beyond an involvement with the Feeding Our Future nonprofit to serving as a vendor (p. 4, item 7) to Gar Gaar Family Services, another free-food nonprofit. Neither Gar Gaar nor its leadership has ever been charged in the case.
In the broader Feeding Our Future case, October 1 stands out as an important date with two sentencings, a guilty plea, and a jury trial, all from different fraud cases, all scheduled for that same day in federal court.
