Connecticut Man of the Day

Jose Israel Tenesaca-Mejia, 21, of East Haven, CT, is our Connecticut Man of the Day for December 5.

Tenesaca appeared in federal court in downtown St. Paul this afternoon. He was arrested back on October 28 on a felony warrant out of Connecticut, flight to avoid prosecution. State court records don’t list the underlying complaint against Tenesaca. Federal court records show the charges as sexual exploitation of a minor and possession of child pornography.

His appearance in federal court was part of the process of returning him to Connecticut. He appeared in state court yesterday to waive extradition.

This, perhaps related, item appeared on news12 Connecticut in mid-October,

Stamford [CT] police are asking for help locating a 14-year-old girl who has been missing since May. Caterine Munoz-Rojas was last seen at Mill River Park and is known to spend time in West Haven. Investigators say she may be with 21-year-old Jose Israel Tenesaca Mejia.

Yikes. Good news is that they found him, in Minnesota.
