Khadar Jigre Adan, now aged 62, became the third and final defendant associated with the JigJiga business and entertainment center to plead guilty in the Feeding Our Future case.
Adan was Defendant No. 38, overall, in the sprawling free-food scandal. He entered the 48th guilty plea to become the 55th individual convicted, so far.
Adan appeared in federal court in downtown Minneapolis to enter his plea last Thursday, August 28. He pled guilty to one count of theft of government property.
Adan was the owner of the JigJiga building on Lake Street in south Minneapolis. The building is a multi-tenant retail and office building in a busy commercial district. The fake food site “operated” out of this building.

Adan pled guilty to a misdemeanor charge. Under the terms of his plea agreement, the sentencing guidelines call for a prison term of between zero and six months in prison.
The previous week, Adan’s co-defendant, Ahmed Yasin Ali, pled guilty to a felony money laundering count.
With these two guilty pleas, the courtroom trial scheduled for later this month has been cancelled. The prosecution and defense have jointly agreed to recommend a sentence of probation in Adan’s case.
A sentencing date has not been set yet for any of the three co-defendants.
