Former Speaker Steve Crisafulli Joins JMI As Scholar in Residence
TALLAHASSEE – The James Madison Institute (JMI) is excited to announce the addition of former Florida Speaker of the House Steve Crisafulli to our team as a Scholar in Residence. This position will be housed within The Durden Center for the Advancement of Liberty at JMI.
Steve served as the 85th Speaker of the Florida House of Representatives from 2014 to 2016. As Speaker, Steve spearheaded landmark water quality protection legislation and led on key issues in agriculture, business, aerospace, education and health care industries.
“Steve is a principled leader whose commitment to economic liberty and free-market advancement strongly aligns with JMI’s mission. We are delighted to welcome his insight and passion to our team.” — Dr. Robert McClure, President and CEO
As the nation looks to Florida for leadership and proven policy solutions, JMI stands ready to ensure our state remains a shining beacon on the hill. Now more than ever, the successes achieved through limited government and free enterprise can help transform the country. Speaker Crisafulli joins JMI to amplify those successes and help shape solutions for Florida and beyond.
“For almost 40 years, JMI has been a leading advocate for free-market principles, with a sustained and measurable impact in Florida and across the nation. I look forward to this next chapter of advancing the principles that have made our state what it is today in my role as Scholar in Residence.” — Former Speaker Steve Crisafulli, 85th Speaker of the Florida House of Representatives
