Hey there, Georgio!

Georgio Thomas James-Jones, age 27, has been charged federally with one count of willful destruction of government property.

The government property in this case was a window on the ground floor of the federal courthouse in downtown Minneapolis.. The vandalism occurred during Anti-ICE riots on the afternoon of January 7.

I understand that the federal courthouse is, technically, a federal building. However, ICE does not operate out of the building, other than to pick up or drop off the occasional defendant.

Truth be told, Mr. James-Jones was barking up the wrong tree. If I were to hazard a guess, most employees working in that building would be sympathetic to the cause of illegal immigrants. Most of the sitting federal judges were appointed by Democratic Presidents, and then, in turn, those judges have hired staff of similar ideologies.

For the exact same reason, Mr. James-Jones has little to fear from the federal justice system.

James-Jones made his first court appearance at the federal courthouse in downtown St. Paul, yesterday, and was released on $0 bond.

He is due back in court on February 3.
