Keith Ellison sues Trump over SNAP benefits

From a press release issued today,

Attorney General Ellison sues Trump administration for illegally suspending SNAP benefits

Officially, the federal government is shut down, deprived of any authority to spend money or do anything else, for that matter.

AG Ellison believes that the executive branch has an affirmative obligation to continue working, unpaid, during the shutdown and to re-direct disaster relief money to pay for regular food stamp benefits.

From the AG,

Attorney General Ellison co-led a coalition of 22 other attorneys general and three governors today in filing a lawsuit against the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA).

He adds,

Coalition urges court to immediately restore SNAP funding relied upon by 440,000 Minnesotans

The figure 440,000 seems like a large figure, and it probably is, but it falls well short of the number of children Feeding Our Future claimed to be feeding at the height of their fraud.

As Attorney General, Ellison has done nothing to prosecute the fraudsters or attempt to claw back the half-billion dollars stolen from taxpayers.

Instead, he spends all his time suing Donald Trump. Since he took office in 2019, Ellison’s press releases have mentioned Trump, by name, 119 times.

Priorities reveal themselves.
