Minnesota Man of the Day

Tomas Valencia-Ramirez takes Minnesota Man of the Day honors in a hard-fought, five-way contest.

Valencia (a/k/a Rufino Ramirez) appeared this afternoon in federal court in downtown St. Paul, charged with felony re-entry of a previously deported illegal alien. Valencia takes the day’s honors on the strength of his five (5) previous deportations.

Running a close second for the daily prize was Luis Antonio Garcia-Lopez, of Mexico. He has been charged with three counts: the usual felony count for illegal re-entry of a previously deported alien and two counts related to harboring another illegal alien.

Garcia also has a prior felony drug conviction out of Rice County. He was found last month up in Hibbing.

Inexplicably, Garcia was released on bond and participated in his most court appearances via zoom, from parts unknown. He is due back in court in January 2026.

Henry Vallecillo-Colindres is awarded the bronze medal. He was in court today on a charge of making a false statement in a passport application.

Carlos Damian-Rodriquez qualifies as a semi-finalist, appearing in court today related to a conspiracy to transport aliens charge.

Juan Sebastian-Andres, the fifth man to appear in court today, as he faces a re-entry charge, fell short in the preliminary round. However, he remains eligible for future Man of the Day honors as his case continues.

And it’s only Monday.
