Minnesota Man of the Day: trigger warning

Allan Fernando Flores-Lemus is our Minnesota Man of the Day, and he arrives with a trigger warning.

Flores, age 37, was indicted yesterday in federal court on seven counts of producing child pornography, four counts of receiving child pornography, and one count of illegal immigration. He is being held in the federal lockup in the Sherburne County Jail.

The original complaint in the case remains under seal, but the allegations included in the public record are horrific enough. The alleged victim is a thirteen-year-old girl and the case appears to have begun as a state-level missing person report.

The production charges involved Mr. Flores’ iPhone 14, himself, and the girl. The receiving charges involve the girl’s Snapchat account. There is more detail, but in the interests of decorum, I’ll sum up the nature of the case with this comment from the judge,

The nature and circumstances of the alleged offense are serious, dangerous, and disturbing.

‘Nuff said. Court records indicate that the girl returned to her family.

Law enforcement reports that further investigation of the iPhone led to the discovery of additional photos depicting individuals of a similar age to the victim in this case.

State court records indicate that Flores may be from Honduras and may reside in Minneapolis.

I am assured, on a daily basis, that it is Mr. Flores, not the alleged child victim, who is in need of protection by the state, Hennepin County, and the City of Minneapolis.

No date has been set, as of yet, for the formal arraignment of Mr. Flores.
