Minnesota Man tasered

Jose Alberto Arroyo-Sotelo is our Minnesota Man of the Day. Dramatic scenes played out up in Fridley and Brooklyn Park earlier this month, when Arroyo was taken into custody by federal agents as they searched for another illegal alien suspect.

On October 10, agents from three (3) federal agencies–Border Patrol, DHS, and IRS–were searching for another suspect, initials D.A.R.

Early that morning, they pulled over D.A.R. in a traffic stop. At this point, D.A.R.’s vehicle included two passengers. D.A.R. was behind the wheel and Arroyo was the front-seat passenger.

Agents inquired as to Arroyo’s immigration status, and he declined to answer, as is his right. He does not have the right to assault a federal officer, to grab for the officer’s firearm, or to flee from arrest, much less into oncoming traffic.

Arroyo had to be tasered, but he still continued resisting arrest. An illegal alien, Arroyo has been charged with assaulting a federal officer, but has not yet been charged with any counts related to his illegal immigration.

Arroyo is scheduled to make his initial appearance at the federal courthouse in downtown St. Paul this afternoon.
