Minnesota Man’s latest visit cut short

Jose Alfredo Ojeda Garcia, age 33, appears to be on his way back to Mexico, again, after an extended visit to Minnesota.

He’s been in federal custody since early February, following a late January arrest in Faribault County (Wells). The arrest occurred following a late-night traffic stop from which Ojeda fled on foot.

Ojeda was charged with two misdemeanors in that case, which was dismissed last month on account of Ojeda’s unavailability for court appearances.

Ojeda is a convicted felon in a case (also in Faribault County) dating back to 2011. He was convicted of 3rd degree criminal sexual conduct in a case involving a young teen victim.

This conviction resulted in an April 2012 deportation and still shows an unpaid fine of $1,085.

After his January 2025 traffic stop and arrest, he was charged with a probation violation in that 2011 felony case, an action which appears to still be pending.

In between, he appears to have picked up up a criminal trespass case down in Texas, along with two additional deportations (2021, 2022) to his native Mexico.

Ojeda pled guilty back in June 2025 to one federal felony count of illegal re-entry of a previously deported alien.

On Friday, August 29, he was sentenced to time served.

Adios, Jose!
