Senate Bill 1443 — Conditional release, deportation (+1)

Bill Description: Senate Bill 1443  “establishes a process by which individuals in the custody of the Idaho Department of Correction (IDOC) who are subject to a federal immigration detainer and have received a final order of removal from a federal immigration authority may be released to federal immigration authorities prior to the expiration of their sentence where doing so is consistent with public safety and the terms of their sentence.”

This legislation would establish a process by which illegal aliens held in IDOC facilities may be released to federal immigration authorities for detention and deportation, provided they are not serving a life sentence or have been condemned to capital punishment. The projected savings to IDOC according to the SoP would be around $3.5 million, and this legislation would apply to around 100 inmates. Deporting intimates held in IDOC facilities saves Idaho money and fast tracks the removal of criminal Illegal aliens from the United States.
