Why America’s Crisis Runs Deeper Than Politics
Across the country, Americans are no longer divided simply by policy or party but by rival moral imaginations—two incompatible visions of truth, freedom, and even human nature itself. In this talk for the Eagle Forum, I explore how this fracture emerged, why it represents a deeper crisis than political polarization, and what it will take to rebuild the moral and civic foundations necessary for a free people. Drawing on thinkers like Abraham Lincoln, Os Guinness, and Thomas Sowell, I argue that recovering the American mind requires recovering a truer vision of the human person, renewing the institutions that shape character, and restoring an education that forms citizens capable of self-government.
