Tough breaks for a Minnesota Man

Martin Ernesto Salvador-Tomas, age 28, pled guilty to a felony count of illegal reentry of a previously-deported alien. He appeared Tuesday morning at the Federal Courthouse in downtown Minneapolis.

Prosecutors documented two previous deportations for Salvador, both occurring in 2018. He was prosecuted under the district’s Fast Track program and will soon be deported a third time.

Salvador, billed out of Blaine, was charged with gross misdemeanor DWI back in October 2024. A local cop pulled over Salvador around 11 p.m. for swerving across lanes. He blew a 0.17 BAC.

Luck was not on Mr. Salvador’s side last autumn. His attorney reports that later in October, Mr. Salvador suffered a work-related injury, falling off a roof and breaking both legs, requiring surgery.

In January 2025, Salvador pled guilty to a reduced misdemeanor DWI charge. At that time, he signed a document, written in both English and Spanish, that he understood that his voluntary guilty plea may result in his deportation.

Adios, Martin!
