Later today, Minnesota Management & Budget (MMB) is due to release its November forecast for the state government budget over the next few years.
Already, KSTP reports:
The latest budget and economic forecast from Minnesota Management and Budget, released Thursday, projects a $2.465 billion surplus for the current, 2026-27 biennium. However, it also projects a $2.96 billion deficit for the 2028-29 biennium.

MMB characterized the state’s overall budget and economic outlook as “stable” but acknowledged “structural budget challenges remain.” The agency will give a more thorough update on the budget forecast Thursday afternoon.
