Ernest Anyere Ngwa, 53, is facing two counts of DWI, one count of traffic collision and one count of reckless driving.

When Ngwa got out of the car, he was unable to walk on his own and provided a preliminary breath test which resulted in a BAC of .295, the criminal complaint says.
It turns out that Ernest Anyere Ngwa is from Cameroon, having arrived on our shores in February 2024. After his release from the Washington County jail following his DWI arrest, Ngwa was picked up by ICE.
A habeas corpus petition was filed on Ngwa’s behalf late last week. In a response to the petition filed by the government yesterday, it was noted that the terms of Ngwa’s immigration “parole” included a provision where Ngwa agreed to remain law-abiding during his stay in our nation. Without jumping to conclusions, it would appear that Ngwa failed to hold up his end of the deal.
KSTP notes that Ngwa is due back in state court on August 24.
