Hassan Ahmed Hussein entered a guilty plea yesterday for his role in the Housing Stabilization Services (HSS) Medicaid fraud.
I’ve been tracking some 116 defendants charged by the local U.S. Attorney for welfare fraud in Minnesota over the past four years. Of those, 88 have now pled guilty or been convicted in courtroom trials.

A globe-trotting fraudster whose company was exposed in a KARE 11 investigation has pleaded guilty to wire fraud for stealing taxpayer money intended to help vulnerable Minnesotans find housing.
KARE-11 reports,
Federal prosecutors say Hussein and his co-owner spent much of the money on themselves and personal travel.
Their destinations included London, Sydney, Dubai, Istanbul and several locations in Saudi Arabia.
KARE-11 notes that Hussein’s co-defendant, Ahmed Abdirashid Mohamed, is scheduled to enter his guilty plea next Thursday, at which point Mohamed will become fraud conviction No. 89.
