Disturbance in Edina

From Fox-9 TV,

Edina Aquatic Center ‘disturbance’ leads to 1 arrest.

The incident occurred Saturday evening at the city’s public outdoor pool on 66th Stree.

Edina police say a “disturbance” led to a large police presence near the Edina Aquatic Center and later resulted in the arrest of a man who had “outstanding felony warrants.”

Details,

Police say they then established a perimeter south of the Aquatic Center and took a 19-year-old man into custody with the help of a Richfield police K9.

The only person matching that description is one Lannie Larenzo Bush, Jr., who was booked into Hennepin County jail on Saturday night on an outstanding felony warrant out of Wright County.

According to court records, Bush was cited with two misdemeanors in connection with the Edina incident involving fleeing from police/providing a false name. Neither the citation nor the media accounts provide any detail on the nature of the Saturday pool disturbance.

Mr. Bush is billed out of Minneapolis, and his felony warrant stems from a February 2026 case where he is alleged to have transmitted threats to the estranged mother of his child. The case file indicates two missed court dates, one in March and a second in June.

In between, he accumulated another misdemeanor case, involving an alleged violation of a domestic abuse no contact order. He his due back in court on September 11 in that case.

Court records also show that Bush faced two juvenile cases, both involving robbery. The more serious of the two appears to relate to a February 2024 series of incidents. From a KSTP-5 TV report aired at the time,

Minneapolis police investigating 2 robbery sprees Sunday; Arrests have been made, sources say.

Details,

Officials believe the incidents are connected and that there are possibly two groups of juveniles working together.

“This, again, appears to be the same MO, same groups of juveniles that we suspect were involved in the previous robbery spree. We have investigators working around the clock to try and identify all of the different individuals involved.”

This year, it’s been something of a long, hot summer in the southwest Minneapolis suburb. You may recall this incident late last month, as reported by Fox 9,
